今日（4日）是1989年天安門事件的36周年，英、美、澳、加等多國駐港總領事館均在社交網站專頁上載照片悼念。美國國務卿魯比奧亦發出聲明，紀念當年因爭取自由而犧牲的中國人民，還有因追尋正義並要求究責中共，而遭到中共政府鎮壓、迫害的中國人，同時譴責中共政府試圖掩蓋事實，並強調自由、民主不僅是美國的原則，也是普世價值。
美國駐港澳總領事館換上了一幅燃點蠟燭的封面照片，其後再發帖文引述美國國務卿魯比奧的一段聲明：「今天，我們紀念那些為了行使基本自由而英勇犧牲的中國人民，以及那些為了追究1989年6月4日事件的責任和正義而繼續遭受迫害的人們。」 （Today we commemorate the bravery of the Chinese people who were killed as they tried to exercise their fundamental freedoms, as well as those who continue to suffer persecution as they seek accountability and justice for the events of June 4, 1989.）
英國駐香港總領事館貼出一張黑白照片，寫著「不想回憶，未敢忘記。」，並寫上「VI IV」(羅馬字母6、4)。
澳洲駐香港總領事館也在Facebook上傳一張燭光的照片，並寫道「在這一天，我們與世界各地的社區一起，緬懷1989年6月4日在天安門廣場遇難的人們。澳洲始終致力於保護和支持人權——包括結社自由、言論自由和政治參與自由。」（On this day, we join communities around the world to remember the loss of life at Tiananmen Square on 4 June 1989.Australia remains committed to protecting and supporting human rights – including freedom of association, freedom of expression and freedom of political participation.）
加拿大駐港澳總領事館則在Facebook上發出帖文表示:「我們不會忘記1989年6月4日：和平示威者在北京天安門廣場及其周邊地區遭到暴力鎮壓的悲慘日子。加拿大與香港、國際社會一同莊嚴紀念這一天。集會自由是一項人權；我們都有責任促進和捍衛這項權利以及其它人權和普世自由。加拿大將繼續與那些和平發出聲音的人站在一起。」（We won’t forget #June4,1989: the tragic date when peaceful demonstrators were violently suppressed in and around Beijing’s #TiananmenSquare. Canada joins Hong Kong and the international community in solemn remembrance. Freedom of assembly is a human right; we all have the responsibility to promote and defend this and other human rights and universal freedoms. Canada will continue to stand with those who make their voices heard peacefully.）@
